Crime: Victim named as murder investigation launched in Ramsgate

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Ramsgate at the weekend.

 



Kent Police was called at 5pm on Sunday 18 June 2017 after 40-year-old Michael Ward collapsed in Bush Avenue.

Officers attended along with medical professionals from South East Coast Ambulance Service but Mr Ward was declared dead at the scene.

It was reported that he had driven to Bush Avenue after suffering a single stab wound to his thigh during an earlier altercation in St John’s Crescent. A knife believed to have been used in the incident has been seized by officers.

Arrested

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. He and the victim were known to one another.

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are handling the investigation and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
