With the introduction parking prohibitions in The Churchill School area of Hawkinge next week, residents living nearby could soon see their quiet residential road used as a car park.

Kent County Council's new parking restrictions are being implemented from Monday 18 September and there will be no parking or waiting allowed on much of Haven Drive.

Notices have been posted along the road explaining where the new parking rules apply.

People living near to the school have already seen their roads and footpaths used by parents dropping off and picking up their children and some residents fear it could get worse.

The double yellow lines, which indicate no waiting at any time, are located on Haven Drive between Spitfire Way and the roundabout at Pannell Road. A 20 metre stretch of Hurricane Way and Page Road to Sandpiper Road is also included.
