New Folkestone protest group hits the streets over 15% KCC councillor 'pay rise'

There were plenty of honks and thumbs ups from passing vehicles, including police and ambulance workers, when protesters took to the streets outside Folkestone Civic Centre to make their voices heard over the 15% increase in allowances awarded to KCC councillors.

Pickets gathered at the Civic Centre in Folkestone yesterday evening (26 October) before a meeting of Shepway District Council to protest at former Labour councillor Claire Jeffery's recent switch to the Conservatives.
