Local authority: Charming lady who shouted to us that she hoped we would all get cancer

Have your say!

Dear Editor

I must thank Mr Brun for his partial climb-down. The recent actions by the Council were agreed after a truly horrendous year for us who live here. It isn't an ideal solution, but has at least stopped the vandalism and intimidation we have been suffering since May of last year. It needs to be said that we too are unable to use the land as we did before.

I'm sorry Mr Brun thinks our response has been out of proportion. I wonder what his reaction would have been if he had someone poking their walking stick through his garden fence and waving it about to frighten and wind up his dog, or have someone encouraging their dogs to foul immediately outside his property and not pick up, or have a party of ramblers tramping past his garden fence jeering and shouting at him! And then there was the charming lady who shouted to us that she hoped we would all get cancer. The list is long - I won't repeat it all here, but Mr Brun can always come and talk to us and get our side of the story.

This is why the Council took the action they did, and thank goodness for that.

Oh, and as for my not signing off with my name, I'm sure that, given the above, Mr Brun, as our Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinater, will appreciate why I choose to sign off as:-

A Resident!
