It was bliss to be inside St Leonard’s church in Hythe on Sunday 9 July not just for a cool refuge from the blistering summer sun but also for a quite exceptional concert from The Grier Trio.

Both young musicians are still studying music but are already accomplished musicians who have appeared at many prestigious venues such as the Carnegie in New York and the Chapel of King’s College Cambridge.

Savitri performed Beethoven’s Violin Sonata in A Major, this was followed by Indira playing Brahms’ Cello Sonata in E Minor; both were accompanied by their father on the piano. For their final piece the violin, cello and piano came together for Beethoven’s Piano Trio in G major.

Brin Hughes, Concert Manager of St Leonard’s church excellent year round programme of events, congratulated the Grier Trio on their performance, their eighth at St Leonard’s, and hoped they would return again - a sentiment shared by the enthusiastic audience.
