Occupants escape Ramsgate flat blaze

Firefighters were called to a fire in a second floor flat of a three-storey building in King Street, Ramsgate in the early hours of this morning, 22 July.

Five fire engines were sent to the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled a blaze in a bedroom of the property.

They also used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.

The occupants got out of the property before crews arrived and everyone was accounted for, however a woman, who is believed to be in her 40s, was treated by paramedics.

The British Red Cross support unit was called to help some of the occupants.

The cause of the fire, which started at 2.03am today 22 July, is not yet known say KFRS
