People can't wait for the public toilets at Church Road, New
Romney to close so that refurbishment
and an upgrade by Folkestone Hythe District Council can get underway.
The work, which starts on Monday (24
September) and is expected to take up to five weeks, includes plastering and
painting walls and ceiling, installing damage-resistant wall cladding and
installing new hand-washing facilities.
The toilets need to close while the work is carried out.
“We want to provide pleasant and well-functioning public toilets for residents
and visitors and this is part of a planned maintenance programme across the
district. We are sure everyone will appreciate the improvements when the toilets
re-open,” said Cllr Dick Pascoe, Cabinet Member for Property Management and
Environmental Health.
