A renewed appeal for information, following a fatal collision in which a man was killed on Frith Road in Dover, has been launched by Kent Police.
The incident took place at around 5.40pm on Saturday 9 November
2019 and involved a red Peugeot 207 and a pedestrian – a man in his 50s who died
at the scene.
As part of their enquiries, Kent Police officers would like to obtain dash
camera footage of the Peugeot being driven in the area at the time.
Detective Inspector Lynn Lewis, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit,
said: ‘We are following numerous, ongoing lines of enquiry but remain very keen
to obtain footage that shows the vehicle involved being driven.
‘It is possible motorists travelling in the area on Saturday evening will have
captured the Peugeot and their footage, no matter how insignificant it may
appear, could be a crucial piece of evidence that can help us establish the full
circumstances.’
As part of their enquiries, officers found the Peugeot abandoned near allotments
in Astley Avenue on the evening of the collision.
A 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from Dover, were also arrested
on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the incident. Both
have been bailed, pending further enquiries, until 5 December 2019.
