Double delight for steam train enthusiasts as 'Mayflower' makes two trips through Kent on Thursday

On Thursday 13th June, steam train enthusiasts will have two chances to view a former LNER B1 locomotive, no. 61306 'Mayflower'  as it hauls two excursions through Kent including brief stops at Folkestone West and Canterbury stations.

The trips are organized by Steam Dreams and will depart London Victoria at 0845 before running via Bromley South and Ashford International to stop at Folkestone West - down platform at 1053 to enable passengers for the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway to alight and be transported to Hythe.

The trip will leave at 1056 and run via Folkestone Warren, Dover Priory to arrive at Canterbury East at 1150.

At Canterbury visitors to the city will alight but passengers for London will join and the trip depart at 1153 running via Faversham and Medway to London Victoria.

On Thursday evening, once again 61306 Mayflower will depart from London Victoria at 1737 and run via Ashford International to Canterbury West station where city visitors will rejoin for a departure at 2036.

The train will then run via Deal and Dover Priory to a brief stop again at Folkestone West -up platform - to collect RHDR passengers and depart for London Victoria by 21.42pm
