The Bishop of Dover has spoken of the scenes he witnessed when he visited the migrant camp near Calais known as ‘The Jungle’ and has launched an Advent appeal for refugees.



Calais to Folkestone Channel Tunnel fencing reduces incursions to almost ZERO

Channel Tunnel operator Eurotunnel has the reported nightly number of attempts by migrants to enter the terminal near Calais has fallen to "almost zero" after the installation of stronger fencing and tighter security.

Over 300 campaigners gathered in Dover's Market Square on Saturday 17th October to show their support for the refugees and migrants; both in the UK and those in Calais or crossing Europe escaping from mainly war-torn areas.

Kent County Council is thanking residents after it was inundated with offers of help and donations for the high numbers of unaccompanied asylum seeking children who arrived in the county during the summer months and continue to do so.
