Police patrol arrests four on drugs charge after stopping car in Ramsgate

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of dealing Class B drugs in Ramsgate.

Officers from the Thanet Local Policing Team were on patrol in Archway Road just after midnight on Monday 16 April when they stopped a car.

Officers from Kent Police have joined forces with the Kent and Medway Safety Camera Partnership and Kent County Council in an effort to curb the number of speeding motorists in the county.

The action forms part of a Europe-wide road safety campaign by the European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL).



Neighbourhood Watch alert over burglary in Hawkinge

Neighbourhood Watch is alerting residents in Hawkinge to a reported burglary at a house in Pannel Drive.


The property was broken into between 5.00pm and 10.00pm on Thursday, 12 April.

Residents in Etchinghill turned out on 14 April for their biannual clean up of the village.


Twice a year is all it takes to keep on top of the litter in Etchinghill and on each successive litterpick less is found.

Folkestone and Hythe MP applauds aspiring Hawkinge cinematographer after BFI Film Academy graduation

Hawkinge film student and aspiring cinematographer 17-year-old, Thomas Hall, pictured below, graduated last week from the British Film Institute’s Film Academy.


It followed an a non-stop two week programme delivered by the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, designed to find the country's next generation of film makers.

Sandwiched between Biddenden and Cranbrook, Sissinghurst Garden created by Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson is possibly one of the most famous gardens in Kent.


Visitors though should be aware that due to the recent heavy rain and a large amount of footfall over Easter, parts of the estate are closed to allow the areas to recover and paths will re-open as soon as it is safe to do so.....

RAF 100th anniversary celebrated at Capel-Le-Ferne Battle of Britain Memorial near Folkestone

Scores of people came along to mark both the RAF's 100th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel yesterday, 14 April 2018.


Visitors were also able to see the RED10 Baton Relay tour of the former WW2 airfields of Britain and associated sites.



Faversham collision leaves pedestrian seriously injured in London hospital

Police investigating a serious collision in Faversham are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

It's reported that at 2.30pm on Saturday 14 April it was reported that a white Nissan Juke car was travelling along Napleton Road towards Tanners Street, when it hit a pedestrian.


Police appeal after 30-year-old Folkestone woman is reported missing - UPDATE

Officers who were appealing for information to help locate a 30-year-old woman reported missing from Folkestone have reported that the woman reported missing from the Folkestone area on Saturday 14 April has now been located safely.

Kent Police would like to thank everyone for their assistance with this appeal.
