Three charged after Kent Police Officers assaulted and racially abused in North Kent

Three people have been charged following assault and racial abuse offences against police officers in North Kent.

The separate incidents happened over the course of the weekend in Gillingham, Rochester, and Sittingbourne.

 

 


Thanet Police concerned over man missing from Ramgate since March 31

Kent Police is concerned for the welfare of a man who has been missing for more than a week and is appealing for information about his whereabouts.

Andrew O’Brien, aged 51, was last seen at 4.20pm on Saturday 31 March 2018 leaving an address in Pegwell Road, Ramsgate.

 

 


Redundancy helps Folkestone activity travel company celebrate fifth birthday

An independent business which started out as a hobby job when redundancy loomed is celebrating its Fifth Birthday in April.

REAL Socialising’s aims were to encourage people to socialise rather than ‘sofalise’ by offering a range of activity which brings people together exploring new places.

Hawkinge litter picking volunteers will be out again on the streets of Hawkinge in May picking up the perpetual stream of litter which others have discarded

But undeterred, organisers say: "All volunteers are welcome – please come and join us and help to keep our streets and open areas cleaner and safer for all our families."

 




Jewellery stolen in five recent burglaries in Sturry, Dover, Folkestone and Ashford

Kent Police is appealing for information as part of an investigation into five burglaries reported across Sturry, Dover, Folkestone and Ashford.

On Tuesday 3 April between 8pm and 9pm jewellery was reported stolen following a break-in at a property in McCarthy Avenue, Sturry near Canterbury.

 

 


St Mary’s Churchyard in Ashford town centre is regenerated by action team

Sandgate, Folkestone library computer 'buddy' offering FREE help with basic skills and ancestry today

A computer 'buddy' is offering free help to visitors to the Sandgate Library in Folkestone.

The Library is now open on a Tuesday afternoon until 5.00pm and an exciting Scrabble Club is also taking place from 2.00pm - 4.00pm on that day.

 

 


Kent Police appeal for witnesses to serious crash involving car and motorcycle near Ashford

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses to a serious collision on the A20 at Sellindge, near Ashford, on Saturday 7 April 2018.

Officers were called just before 4.20pm to the collision, which involved a blue Ford Focus and a blue Triumph motorbike near to the Co-op store on Main Road.

Kent Police has said a missing teenager from Thanet has been safely located

The 14 - year-old was reported missing from Margate during the evening of Monday 2 April after she failed to return home from meeting friends.

 

 


Folkestone residents in Cheriton told to park elsewhere

Folkestone residents who live between the junctions of Oxenden Road and Ross Way in Cheriton are being told to park elsewhere.

From tomorrow, 10 April, Kent County Council will be working to improve the road surface of Military Road, Folkestone. It is expected to take 2 days to complete.
