It's been reported to the Gazette that in the early hours of Sunday morning (10 January) a tree in Elvington Lane, Hawkinge brought down a telephone line and is still awaiting repair.

BT has said it is planning to install a fibre optic cabinet in Alkham near Dover in the next few months, bringing superfast broadband to the village.
