Folkestone's former harbour branch line has recently been surveyed for a couple of linked new art projects about the flora which has naturally begun to reclaim the site after closure.

The first 'Freedom of Hawkinge' has been granted to John Heasman, known by many as 'Mr Hawkinge'. He has sadly been diagnosed with motor neurone disease after serving the community as a councillor for 43 years.
